The Energy Art Movement is an international contemporary multimedia art movement, with three primary values: quality, diversity, and evolution - on the common ground of energetic depictions. Our values have been explicitly defined in our manifesto - which is our founding document - and our principles. We believe that enhancing our creations with energy - either in composition or in subject matter - adds value to our art. We strive to follow a progressive trend of forward evolution in the Fine Arts. We embrace both traditional and digital media.

The movement’s members draw from all earlier major styles - such as impressionism, expressionism, and futurism - while they enhance their work with energetic compositions which - according to their manifesto’s reasoning - adds artistic value to them, and thus is a new stage of evolution and synthesis for those styles, and so for the Fine Arts.

The movement was founded in early May of 2008 by five painters, initiated by Giorgio Vaselli who is currently the movement’s organizer. January of 2009 saw a diversification in leadership, with Adam Scott Miller becoming his co-organizer, while others have joined the committee as essayists and networkers to assist in the expansion of the movement. Diogenes Lamarche joined the team as co-organizer in September of 2009, and he is also responsible for co-curating the Energy Art Salon 2010 with Giorgio.

This expansion is apparent in the growing number of members - 96 as of January 2010. Applications are growing in number, however the committee remains selective as to which energy artists to feature on our website as members. We also wish to build a bridge between various parts of the art world.

Cohesion in the movement is created via our common projects. Our Green Energy Project has culminated in our first group exhibition in July 2009 in Canada, addressing the most important contemporary issue. Our first annual international Salon Competition has been launched in May, ending in September, with our first annual Energy Art Salon scheduled for January 2010 in Chicago. It will showcase competition finalists, and entries from our members for our second major project, celebrating the fact that We Are Connected.

The movement looks forward to a bright future with further expansion, shows and projects paving the way.
